This cone made of 40 kg of very hard steel comes from an hydroelectric
plant and is the base of a Foucault pendulum clock. The furrows have been
sculpted by nothing else but the water. The 6 millimeters hole in the axis
allows a laser beam to go through it. The reflection of this light against
the polished inox steel bob located above illuminate the numbers of the
hours'display on the floor. So we are able to see the passing time due
to the rotating earth directely on the floor.
This pendulum doesnt need any frame, as it is tightened to the roof.
The wire's lenght cant be longer than 4 meters.
