This short Foucault pendulum (less than1 meter) is an experimental proof of the earth's rotation. It's powered by a small coil located under the bob. This device is powered by a 1,5 volts cell lasting one year. We can read the pendulum's advance on the display under the pendulum, divided in hours. This is an ideal piece for a hall of a school or a university. The Foucault effect can already be seen after 15 minutes.

The precession of ellipticiy is annulled by a Charron ring. The display on the picture shows the right time only in the North Pole.

This device is not a clock, but a simple Foucault pendulum. Therefore there is no need to set the time base, there is no temperature's compensation, and no hours, minutes and seconds display. No precautions are required for the first launch: the pendulum's course will be stabilized after 2 hours anyway.

It's very difficult to realize a short Foucault pendulm and when it works, it sounds like a miracle. Dont expect to move it in many places: once installed, it shouldnt be moved at all. Setting the levels can take up to 2 weeks!
